Come spend a little time with Lisa Calle, the Bernina Ambassador and Award Winning quilter!  With her humor and down to earth attitude she will share with you her personal and professional journey of quilting.  Lisa illustrates how she has earned renowned success from her initial piece using a “3/8” seam allowance, to her latest quilt that won awards at the Houston International Quilt Festival.  As you gain insight on Lisa’s amazing craft and her 3 step Divide and Design method any hesitation you have regarding the patience or talent for quilting will quickly disappear. So if you doubt whether or not you can quilt with pride, Lisa will give you the confidence and knowledge needed to start.  The world of quilting can be yours too!

 

Divide and Design, Get it Done! 

Skill level: intermediate
6 hour hands on, 3 hour drawing
Have you ever stood in front of a quilt and wondered how the quilter came
up with the designs on the quilt? It really is easier than you think. In this
class, Lisa will show how to approach the design process in a whole new
way. Divide large areas of your quilt into manageable small spaces to
create quilting designs that will make your quilt top sing. You will learn the
step-by-step method of transforming everyday quilts into masterpieces and
special quilts into treasured heirlooms.
This class can be done on long arms, domestic machines or as a drawing
class.

 

Rulers for Rookies

 So you’re not ready for the MajorLeagues when it comes to working with rulers, no worries.  Join Lisa in Rulers for Rookies and be ready for three full hours of ruler action.  This class is a comprehensive hands on class incorporating not only straight edges and circles BUT some of the other Quilter’s Groove Rulers as well.  Regardless of whether you’ve never touched a ruler, or feel that your skills could use a little coaching this class is for you! Lisa will coach her team of  “temporary” Rookies to victory while working on the Ohio star quilt block panel.  She will have you pushing those days of feeling like a Rookie aside and have you ready for the Pros

Feathers for the Timid

Skill level: Beginner
3 hours hands on longarm
Are you just beginning your quilting journey and have a love of feathers but
feel they are out of reach? Come join Lisa as she shares with you the first
5 feathers she learned to quilt and just how easy and fun they are to
execute and embellish. This class is a combination of drawing and
stitching so you are sure to find your own personal feather and be
WOW’ing your friends and customers in no time. This is a fun hands on
class for the true beginner.

 

Pebbles, Echoes Crosshatches, Oh MY!

Skill level: Confident Beginner
3 hour hands on Longarm  or domestic
With so many fills to choose from, how do we decide which ones to use to complement our design? Come explore the wide array of fills and learn how to select the appropriate one for the job. We will delve into how to choose the correct scale for the fill and touch on the right thread for the job. Don’t let your fill work be an afterthought, with a little planning they can make your quilt shine.
